KNOW
WHAT YOU'RE BUYING BEFORE YOU BUY IT -- OR PREPARE
TO SPEND SOME MONEY!
Beware,
your
next poster printer uses old technology but at a new price!
Varitronics®
new Variquest™ Poster Maker 3600 uses nearly the same
print technology as their previous model the ProImage® XL
3000 adding a few extra bells and whistles. Its old
technology at a very expensive price — about $6000 (compare both machines technical data sheets). But the big surprise for the customer will be
the cost of the poster paper rolls they’ll be forced to
use. (see
our poster printer
paper colors)
The
Variquest™ Poster Maker 3600 is the ProImage™
XL 3000 model jazzed up
with the same scanning quality and the same DPI
resolution. All for a list price of about $6000.
The big difference is the paper rolls.
Each
paper roll now comes with their own proprietary end caps
built in along with a computer chip (left). Previous
models including the 3000 versions used the same end cap
over and over. This computer chip is now read by the
machine from a sensor on the right side of the end cap
carriage (right). This set up requires the end user
to purchase their paper rolls ONLY from their
Varitronics® dealer. One source and one expensive
price.
Remember, no matter which poster printer model you own or purchase, none of
them use any ink or toner, just
paper. If you think the Variquest™ poster printer is
expensive now, just
wait till you start paying Varitronics®’ paper prices no
matter what they may go to in the future.
So
when you’re making that poster printer choice, make it
very carefully. Compare prices and
benefits. Ask for pricing on the ProImage™ Plus 3000
& the ProImage™ XL 3000 not just on the Poster Maker
3600. Or, consider refurbished
equipment poster printers and really save a lot! This
way you’ll have choices of poster
paper vendors and saving as
much as 30% per roll Vs. Varitronics® and their dealer
pricing.
Remember it’s
not what you pay for that printer today, it’s what you’re
paying for the paper tomorrow!
